The contrasting cities of Poland’s Krakow and Warsaw are a wonderful combination to visit, and conveniently connected by rail.

This twin-centre holiday begins with a flight from the UK to the delightful city of Krakow, situated in southern Poland. Krakow is not only an historic and sophisticated city, it is also now a thriving university town with trendy bars and restaurants, offering plenty to appeal to those of all ages.

At the heart of this fascinating city is an impressive medieval square, the largest in Europe. Each year, Krakow’s historic old town hosts a grand festive market in Rynek Glowny Central Square which is hugely popular and attracts hundreds of visitors. A city tour is a great way to take in the main sites which are best explored on foot or by bus. Be sure not to miss Wawel Castle, Krakow’s landmark St. Mary’s Basilica, iconic Cloth Hall and spend time strolling in the historic Old Town and the Jewish Quarter.

There are plenty of great restaurants, mostly found around the main market square, but be sure to venture slightly further out during your stay to discover quaint and cosy eateries away from the main hub. Enjoy 3 nights at the centrally located Novotel Krakow Centrum. This stylish hotel offers direct access to many of the city’s main attractions and also offers guests a great range of facilities including an indoor swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi to relax and unwind at the end of a day’s sightseeing.

Now it’s time to board the train to Poland’s diverse capital city of Warsaw. Revel in the city’s historic and cultural highlights during this 3 night break. Warsaw’s picturesque old town is one of the key attractions of the city. Spend time exploring the different areas, soak up the vibe, and enjoy the local entertainment and diversity of this interesting city.

Other must-see features include Royal Castle, Wilanów Palace and in good weather, be sure to spend time in Royal Lazienki Park, the city’s largest park. Another iconic landmark is the impressive Palace of Culture and Science. This incredibly tall building offers spectacular views of the city from an observation desk which can be found on the 30th floor. The 4* Polonia Palace is an award-winning hotel situated in the heart of Warsaw, close to the picturesque old town and located opposite the Palace of Culture and Science.
